01 / INTRODUCTION
What is GridCredits?
GridCredits is an NFT ecosystem built around modular characters created from a simple grid language. Every character is assembled from the same visual system: squares, blocks, and repeating structure. The result is a collection of characters that look related to each other while remaining distinct.
The characters are not intended to exist only as collectibles. A GridCredits character can also participate in the GridCredits economy through two mechanisms: EARN and BURN. Both of them lead to the same place, the $GRIDS token.
The core idea
The central idea of GridCredits is that a character is more than an image. The NFT you hold is your character inside the ecosystem, and what happens to that character is a choice that belongs to you.
A GridCredits character can be:
- Collected. Held as a character and as a collectible.
- Activated. Put to work through the EARN page.
- Used to earn. An active character generates $GRIDS according to the active earning rules.
- Permanently burned for $GRIDS. The NFT is removed and $GRIDS is received according to the active burn rules.
These options are not a sequence you are required to follow. Keeping a character as a collectible is a valid choice, and so is earning with it, and so is burning it. This documentation describes each of them, how they relate to each other, and where the exact parameters come from.
How to read this documentation
The sections that follow move from the character itself, to the token, to the two ways of earning, and finally to the way the whole system fits together. A user flow, a section on rules and parameters, and a FAQ close the document. Where a value or requirement has not been finalized, this documentation says so directly rather than guessing.
02 / GRIDCREDITS NFT
The Character
A GridCredits NFT represents a single character. Holding the NFT means holding that character: it is yours, it is identifiable as its own piece, and it stays in your collection for as long as you keep it.
Ownership
Ownership is the starting point of everything in the ecosystem. The mechanics described in this documentation are available to the holder of a GridCredits NFT. Connecting a wallet that holds a character is what allows the site to show you the characters you own on the EARN and BURN pages.
Character identity
Each character is built from the modular grid language that defines the collection. That shared language is what makes GridCredits characters recognizable as a family. Each NFT is its own character, and nothing in the ecosystem asks you to treat it as anything other than an individual piece.
The collectible aspect
A GridCredits NFT is a collectible first. It can remain a collectible in your wallet for as long as you like, without being activated and without being burned. Nothing about the earning or burning mechanics changes the fact that a character is a piece you can simply hold.
Role inside the ecosystem
Alongside being a collectible, the NFT is your access point to the ecosystem. It is what you activate when you want to earn, and it is what you select when you want to burn. In both cases the NFT is the thing the mechanics act on.
- NFT ownership and earning. To earn, you own a character and activate it through the EARN page. The NFT stays in your collection while it earns.
- NFT ownership and burning. To burn, you select a character you own on the BURN page. Burning permanently removes that NFT from your collection.
The NFT can therefore remain a collectible while also participating in the ecosystem. Participation through earning does not remove the character. Only burning does.
03 / $GRIDS
The $GRIDS Token
$GRIDS is the token of the GridCredits ecosystem. It is what a character generates when it earns, and it is what an owner receives when a character is burned. Both mechanisms produce the same token, which is why $GRIDS is the point where the two paths meet.
The relationship
GRIDCREDITS NFT
↓
PARTICIPATES IN THE ECOSYSTEM
↓
$GRIDS
A GridCredits NFT participates in the ecosystem, and $GRIDS is the result of that participation. The NFT is the character. $GRIDS is what the ecosystem gives back to its owner.
How $GRIDS is used
$GRIDS is the token used by the ecosystem according to the active GridCredits rules. This documentation describes how $GRIDS is earned and received. It does not describe further parameters of the token, because those are not defined here.
NOTE
No token supply, price, contract address, or other market parameter is stated in this documentation. Where such a parameter exists, it is defined by the active GridCredits system.
04 / EARNING SYSTEM
How Earning Works
Earning is the way a character produces $GRIDS while staying in your collection. The process has three stages, and each of them is described below.
OWN NFT
↓
ACTIVATE
↓
EARN $GRIDS
01
OWN
Earning begins with ownership. The user must own a GridCredits NFT. Ownership matters because the character is the thing that participates in the earning system: without a character there is nothing to activate, and nothing that can generate $GRIDS.
Ownership is also what lets the EARN page recognize your characters once your wallet is connected.
02
ACTIVATE
An owned character can be ACTIVATEd through the EARN interface. Activation is the step that allows the character to participate in the earning system. A character that has not been activated remains a collectible in your wallet.
This documentation does not define any activation cost or requirement. Whatever an activation involves is determined by the active GridCredits system.
03
EARN
An active character can generate $GRIDS according to the active earning rules. The actual earning parameters, including how much a character generates and how quickly, are determined by the live GridCredits system. This documentation does not state an earning rate.
The EARN page
The EARN page is the place where this process is managed. It is designed to show:
- Your characters. The GridCredits NFTs held in the connected wallet.
- Character status. Whether a character is active.
- Earning information. The details of how a character is earning.
- Earned $GRIDS. The $GRIDS your characters have produced.
- Earning activity. A record of activity as it happens.
Until a wallet is connected to the live system, these areas are shown in an empty state.
05 / BURN SYSTEM
How Burning Works
Burning is the second way to receive $GRIDS. Where earning keeps the character, burning removes it. The process has four stages.
SELECT NFT
↓
REVIEW BURN VALUE
↓
BURN NFT
↓
RECEIVE $GRIDS
01
SELECT
The user selects a GridCredits NFT from the BURN page. The page lists the characters held in the connected wallet, and one of them is chosen for the burn.
02
REVIEW
Before anything happens, the user reviews the amount of $GRIDS associated with the burn according to the active burn rules. The BURN page presents this information in its burn preview, next to the selected character.
This documentation does not state a burn value. The value is defined by the active GridCredits system.
03
BURN
The user confirms the burn. This is the decisive step, and it is PERMANENT. The NFT is permanently removed from the user's collection and cannot be returned by this system.
04
RECEIVE $GRIDS
After the burn, the user receives $GRIDS according to the active GridCredits burn rules. The exact mechanics of how and when the $GRIDS is delivered are part of the live system and are not specified here.
PERMANENT ACTION
Burning a GridCredits NFT is permanent. The selected NFT is removed from your collection and you receive $GRIDS according to the active GridCredits burn rules.
06 / TWO WAYS TO EARN
Earn or Burn
GridCredits gives a character two ways to produce $GRIDS. They are separate mechanisms, and the most important difference between them is what happens to the NFT.
Earn with your character
Own and activate a character. The character participates in the earning system and generates $GRIDS according to the active earning rules. Throughout this process the NFT stays with you.
Burn your character
Permanently burn the NFT and receive $GRIDS according to the active burn rules. This happens once. After it, the NFT no longer exists in your collection.
OPTION 01
EARN
KEEP THE NFT.
The character is activated and participates in the earning system. It remains in your collection.
OPTION 02
BURN
PERMANENTLY REMOVE THE NFT.
The character is burned. It is removed from your collection and $GRIDS is received.
Which of the two to use is up to the owner. This documentation does not recommend one over the other.
07 / THE ECONOMY
How the Pieces Connect
The GridCredits economy is made of three things: the NFT, the two mechanisms that act on it, and $GRIDS. The relationship between them can be described as two paths that begin with the same step and end with the same token.
COLLECT
↓
ACTIVATE
↓
EARN
↓
$GRIDS
OR
The ecosystem gives the NFT utility beyond simply holding it. A character that is only held is still a complete collectible. A character that is activated can earn. A character that is burned can be exchanged for $GRIDS in a single, permanent step. The economy exists so that the owner has these choices.
The philosophy behind it is short:
COLLECT THE CHARACTER.
USE THE ECONOMY.
CHOOSE WHAT IT BECOMES.
No further mechanics are part of the economy as described here.
08 / USER FLOW
From Character to $GRIDS
The following is a conceptual user journey. It shows how the pieces described in this documentation fit together from a user's point of view. It contains no figures, because none are defined here.
- A user acquires a GridCredits NFT.
- The user connects their wallet.
- The character becomes visible on the EARN page.
- The user activates the character.
- The character participates in the earning system.
- The user accumulates $GRIDS.
- The user can continue using the character.
- Alternatively, the user can choose to burn the NFT.
- After burning, the NFT is permanently removed.
- The user receives $GRIDS according to the active burn rules.
Steps 3 to 7 describe the earning path and steps 8 to 10 describe the burn path. This is a conceptual flow: a user can stop at any point, and a user who never activates or burns simply keeps a collectible.
09 / RULES & PARAMETERS
System Rules
Earning and burn parameters are controlled by the active GridCredits system. This documentation explains what the mechanisms are and how they relate. It does not fix the numbers behind them. Wherever a parameter has not been finalized, the answer is the same: defined by the active GridCredits system.
EARNING RULES
Earning rates and activation requirements will be defined by the live system.
Defined by the active GridCredits system.
BURN RULES
Burn values will be defined by the active burn rules. The value shown for a character on the BURN page is the value that applies to it under those rules.
Defined by the active GridCredits system.
ELIGIBILITY
Participation depends on the user's ownership and on the state of the character. To earn or burn, the user owns the NFT in question. Whether a particular character can be activated or burned at a given moment depends on its state.
The exact requirements are determined by the active GridCredits system.
SYSTEM PARAMETERS
System parameters may evolve as the GridCredits ecosystem develops. This documentation describes the mechanisms rather than a fixed set of numbers, so that it remains accurate as the parameters change.
Defined by the active GridCredits system.
10 / FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
01
What is GridCredits?
GridCredits is an NFT ecosystem built around modular characters created from a simple grid language. The characters can be collected, and they can also participate in the GridCredits economy through earning and burning.
02
What is a GridCredits NFT?
A GridCredits NFT is a single character in the collection. Holding it means owning that character, which can remain a collectible or take part in the ecosystem through EARN and BURN.
03
What is $GRIDS?
$GRIDS is the token of the GridCredits ecosystem. It is generated by active characters that earn, and it is received when a character is burned. Any further parameters of the token are defined by the active GridCredits system.
04
How do I earn $GRIDS?
There are two ways. You can own and activate a character on the EARN page so that it earns $GRIDS while you keep the NFT, or you can permanently burn a character on the BURN page and receive $GRIDS.
05
How does the EARN page work?
The EARN page is designed to show your characters, their status, earning information, the $GRIDS they have earned, and earning activity. It is also where you activate a character.
06
What does activating a character mean?
Activating a character allows it to participate in the earning system. A character that is not activated stays in your wallet as a collectible. The exact value or requirement is determined by the active GridCredits system.
07
How does burning work?
You select a character on the BURN page, review the $GRIDS burn value, and confirm the burn. The NFT is then permanently removed from your collection and you receive $GRIDS according to the active burn rules.
08
Is burning permanent?
Yes. Burning a GridCredits NFT is permanent.
09
What happens to my NFT after I burn it?
It is permanently removed from your collection. You receive $GRIDS according to the active GridCredits burn rules.
10
How much $GRIDS do I receive from a burn?
The exact value or requirement is determined by the active GridCredits system. The BURN page is designed to show the burn value for the character you select before you confirm.
11
Can I keep my NFT instead of burning it?
Yes. A GridCredits NFT can remain a collectible, and it can earn through activation without being burned. Burning is always a choice.
12
Where can I get a GridCredits NFT?
The home page describes how to collect GridCredits characters. Details about availability are not part of this documentation. The exact value or requirement is determined by the active GridCredits system.
13
Does the project require a connected wallet?
Reading the documentation does not. To see the characters you own on the EARN and BURN pages, a connected wallet is needed, since that is how the site knows which characters are yours. Wallet connection will be linked to the live GridCredits system.
